Iranian American Women's San Francisco Leadership Conference planning are Underway

The Iranian American Women Foundation's San Francisco leadership conference host committee held its second planning meeting on Feb. 8 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront hotel, where the conference will be held May 3rd.

The planning committee has four subcommittees that include the Sponsorship, Exhibit Hall, Volunteer, and PR and Marketing committees. All are paving the way for the best conference yet.

The Foundation has also began its social media campaign for the conference and a Facebook event page is up and running. Visit the event page to RSVP here.

Spotlight Achievement: Nikki Iravani

The Iranian American Women Foundation would like to congratulate San Francisco committee member Nikki Iravani on receiving a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for EyeXam, a self-administered vision screening method she has developed.
EyeXam allows patients to administer a vision test using a mobile computing device, and the patent makes it the first and only patented method for mobile vision screening, according to Iravani, who lives and works in the Bay Area.

EyeXam has been downloaded more than a million times from the iTunes App store and Google Play, and has been featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, a testament to the app's popularity among consumers.

Global Impact of Women through Philanthropy

Zohre Elahian and Bita Daryabari, two of IAW Foundation's trustees, along with Ghazaleh Semnani are three philanthropists whose work has changed the lives of so many women and children nationwide and globally.

The women joined together at the Iranian American Women's Leadership Conference in Los Angeles in November to discuss the global impact of women through philanthropy.

The philanthropists discussed how women have touched the lives of thousands around the globe through leading purposeful lives. They also addressed how they were inspired to dedicate themselves to changing the lives of others and their communities. They shared their life stories and the catalysts that inspired them to be agents of change.

Angella Nazarian, a bestselling author and a noted speaker in her own right, moderated the session. IAW Foundation would like to thank Angella for leading an inspiring discussion.
