Knowing your rights: Immigration, Policy and Advocacy
One week into his presidency, Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration set off a political and legal crisis within the United States. Focused on banning refugees and freezing Visas for people from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, the impact on the Iranian-American community and the diaspora at large has caused a critical need for our community to refocus and come together to better understand our civil and political rights. This panel will focus on an expert analysis of the shifting political landscape in the U.S. and what could lie ahead for U.S./Iran relations under the current administration. It will further delve into essential tools for advocacy, leadership development, community organization and empowerment.
