After graduating with a business degree, in Tehran, I established my own business in Graphic Design. Even though my business was doing well, I left Iran to come to the U.S. in 1989.

Currently, I am a high school administrator working in a very large independent study charter school, with an enrollment of more than 5,000 students. Additionally, I oversee the school’s English learner program. Prior to that, I taught high school business, as well as a variety of subjects at the middle school level. To date, my entire career in the United States has been in education.

I am a lifelong learner and thoroughly enjoy exploring new and innovating ideas. I come from a family of teachers and grew up in an environment where poetry was a big part of our lives. My parents often recited poetry when the family gathered together. Poetry remains an important component of my life.

The field of psychology has always been where my deepest passion is, and when I decided to advance my education, I realized I would not feel complete if I did not follow my dreams to more deeply understand the human mind and, in particular, issues concerning mental health.
