Biography

Roxanna Samii currently a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley. She works for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized United Nations agency and an international financial organization based in Rome, Italy.

Back in 1985, watching the harrowing images of the women, men and children dying from one of the worst famines in northern Ethiopia, Roxanna found her calling and decided to work for a global and international development agency.Thanks to her work at IFAD she has been able to fulfill her vocation by working with and serving rural communities in developing countries.

Roxanna has 30 years of experience in developing and implementing strategic and comprehensive communications strategies using traditional and new media.

She led the design and implementation of IFAD’s digital presence, providing policy and strategic advice in the areas of web management, social media, knowledge management and communication.
