Biography | Necar Zadegan is an actress with a prolific career in television. She is currently sharing her talents in the delicate portrayal of Layla Shokrani on HBO’s “Here and Now” and is recognized also for her portrayals as First Lady turned president Dalia Hassan on Fox’s hit show 24 and as the beloved and fashionable high powered attorney Delia Banai for Bravo’s first scripted series, Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, set to air its final season this June. Zadegan made her Broadway debut in 2011 opposite Robin Williams when she originated the role of the Leper in Rajiv Joseph’s Pulitzer Prize nominated and multi Tony award accoladed “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo”. That same year she made her film debut opposite Michael Sheen and Samuel L. Jackson in the role of Jenna Younger in the Columbia Tri Star psychological thriller, “Unthinkable” and has since gone on to amass a number of other credits in film and television. Zadegan was born in Heidelberg, Germany to Iranian parents and raised in Northern California. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara on a performance scholarship and graduated with honors and a BA degree in Literature. She also studied at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She speaks Persian, French and German and has learned Arabic and Hebrew while working in those languages. Necar is currently an ambassador for BuildOn.org and travels with them around the world building schools for children. |
