Biography | Farnoush Amiri is a reporter and bilingual journalist living in New York City. She recently graduated from New York University with her masters degree in investigative journalism. Last year, she received a scholarship to travel to Puerto Rico and cover the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Since then, Farnoush has covered major domestic and international events for NBC News, including the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, Hurricane Michael and Florence and the string of recent mass shootings. Her reporting can also be found on MSNBC, The Orange County Register and more. Farnoush was born in Tehran but moved to the U.S. at the age of five where she was raised in Southern California. She is fluent in Farsi and is a vegetarian. When she is not out reporting, she can be found learning how to play the piano, FaceTiming with her dog or exploring the city with friends. |
