Alaleh Kamran is a criminal defense attorney who for the last 24 years has dedicated her practice to the defense of the constitution, humanitarian causes, and grassroots community efforts to intervene on behalf of the criminally accused. Her cases have covered the range from minor misdemeanors including Domestic Violence and DUI’s to the representation of the #1 wanted man on the Interpol list. She has tried cases on the State and Federal level, and has represented defendants in gang related murders, assault on police officer cases, as well as sophisticated money laundering and structuring cases. Her portfolio of cases include Drug Trafficking, Health Care fraud, Banking Fraud and Cigarette Tax cases.
Ms. Kamran was part of the original defense team of attorneys who handled the preliminary hearing for Damien Williams, the person who was eventually convicted of pulling Reginald Denny out of the truck and throwing the brick at the start of the 1992 Los Angeles Riots. As part of the defense team for Moussa Hanukai accused of 1st Degree murder of his wife, she was instrumental in constructing a “psychologically castrated husband syndrome”, securing a voluntary manslaughter verdict. She has represented Rap Artists, R&B artists, and other high profile clientele.

She is a frequent lecturer to high schools, colleges & Non-Profit organizations concentrating on Juvenile Crimes and Domestic Violence: Intervention and Prevention. She is a legal analyst on Radio and TV programs, and has had her own monthly radio program addressing Crimes and Constitutional issues.
She is a Past-President of the Iranian American Lawyers’ Association. She was an 18 year board member of the Iranian American Jewish Federation. She is presently serving on the Board for The Private Defenders. She is an active member of the planning and steering committee for the Iranian American Women’s Foundation. She serves as a Board Member for the Iranian Noor Film Festival and is legal counsel to the Beverly Hills Film Festival.
In 2001, she was awarded the “Woman of the year Award” by the Iranian Jewish Women’s organization of Southern California. To date, Alaleh has been the recipient of a Certificate of Commendation from City of Los Angeles; a Community Award from the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors, a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Beverly Hills, and Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Service and Support provided to the Iranian Community thru the Mid-Wilshire Domestic Violence prevention collaborative. In 2010, Jewish Unity Foundation honored her with the”Humanitarian of the Year Award”.
She has appeared as a guest legal analyst for E! Entertainment, Access Hollywood and NBC news. She is a blogger and a citizen journalist and has close to 10,000 followers on her different social media accounts.
