Tannaz “Tawny” Mazarei obtained her Bachelor of Science in psychobiology from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University College of Law. She was admitted as an attorney to the California Bar in 1997 and has been practicing law for the past twenty-four years. Tannaz spent the first ten years of her legal career working in two law firms practicing complex civil litigation and later became a partner in another civil litigation/family law firm. In 2013, Tannaz founded Mazarei Law Group, a boutique law firm that focuses on business and employment law as well as personal injury.

In addition to practicing law, Tannaz is a very passionate advocate and supporter of women’s rights and women’s causes both in and out of the legal arena. She was an active member of the Farhang Foundation through her work as the Chair of the Orange County Council and currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Iranian-American Women Foundation (IAWF). Tannaz has also been involved with several other nonprofit organizations including Working Wardrobes, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Iranian American Bar Association’s Orange County Chapter (IABA), and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
