In my life and work, I am committed to developing the inner being – attaining freedom from the past and the stories that hold us hostage, and deepening compassion and clarity to create journeys filled with gratitude and contribution. For the past fourteen years, I have worked as a clinical ­psychologist providing intergenerational family therapy, opened and operated a social entrepreneurial venture bringing the latest neuroscience applications to learning and brain fitness, and coached individuals and organizations. In every aspect of my life, I am dedicated to offering the latest research-supported clinical skills to create effective and lasting change. In 2008, I embarked on the most challenging and fulfilling journey of my life ­– writing my true-life novel, The Rose Hotel, taking readers into my family’s journey of trauma and redemption, from the chaos of the 1979 Iranian revolution through the thirty years that followed. It is a testament to the human spirit, our ability to overcome tragic circumstances, and thrive. Storytelling has become a huge part of my practice. I now produce plays that weave together real-life individual stories, inspiring others to understand their suffering and to live with clarity to create positive change in themselves, thereby changing the world..
