Dr. Mazarei obtained her medical degree at George Washington University and completed her residency in OBGYN at Albert Einstein Medical Center in NYC. She is currently the Chief of Maternal Child Health at a community hospital in Suburban Maryland, a position she has held for over 2 years. During this time, she has greatly improved the quality of medical care for underserved women in PG County Maryland by improving standards of medical care, education and community outreach. Dr. Mazarei has great interest in global health that dates back to her medical student days when she set up a medical clinic in Choluteca Honduras, and taught the local population about basic preventive care and vaccinations. She had worked on HIV prevention in inner city population in DC and trained the armed forces on basic obstetric and surgical care. Dr. Mazarei has leadership skills that have been honed by living in many countries and by practicing what she preaches. Through her work, Dr. Mazarei is changing the lives of women and newborns by advocating for better medical care, and improving their health.
