Biography | Dr. Fereshteh Dalavarian is a board licensed Clinical Psychologist. Born in Tehran, Iran, she moved to the US in 1961, where she went to high school, then Orange Coast College, and received an AA followed by a certificate in Software programming. In 1971, Dr. Dalavarian and her family decided to move to Iran. While there, she was the Administrator, teacher and Partner in Kooros International Primary School. In 1981, Dr. Dalavarian and her family returned to the US, and she continued her education at UCI, receiving her BA in Psychology. Later, Dr. Dalavarian received her MA in Psychology, Master in MFT and Ph.D. in Psychology from CGI, in 1996. She researched her dissertation on Postpartum Depression at the UCI Birthing Center and Medical Center. Her Postdoctoral internship at South County Western Youth Services was directed mostly at Psychological Testing. Dr. Dalavarian has had her own private practice in Orange County for the past 16 years. Early on her main focus was on Individual, Couple, Child and Group Therapy. Recently her practice has been focused on helping patients with anxiety, depression and panic attacks. Dr. Dalavarian minored in Art and enjoys oil painting and sculpting for relaxation. |
