An Iranian American woman shares her personal experience at the LA Conference
Iranian American Women’s Leadership Conference: LA
This past Sunday over 600 people came together at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA for the Iranian American IAWF 3Women’s Leadership Conference held in Los Angeles for the first time ever.
This was a very special event to me not only because my amazing manager/best friend, Sali Kharazi was being honored on the ‘Rising Star’ panel, but also because I am an Iranian-American woman. To see such inspirational women speaking about their lives and sharing their stories was truly something I will never forget.
It was amazing to see Beverly Hills mayor, Lili Bosse, declare November 2nd Iranian American Women Day in Beverly Hills. I thought it was awesome that Iranian American women are starting to become recognized for their hard work, talents and determination.
People began arriving at 9am for check-in with the conference beginning promptly at 10am. I have to say, I thought it would definitely run on Persian Standard Time, but nope, everything was prompt and scheduled to the T. Several women spoke, empowered, and inspired me. If you follow me on Twitter, you know I was live-tweeting the entire Picture 6conference. After the opening ceremony, there were 8 different panels you could attend: Rising Stars, Leading A Successful Career, Lead Like A Woman, Breaking Taboos, The Global Impact of Women, Public Relations and Strategic Communications: The Best Kept Secrets for Your Business Success, Through Your Eyes: Transforming Hearts & Minds with Arts, and Global Impact of Women Through Philanthropy.
In between panels there was a very special luncheon where people were treated to a lovely meal, coffee, dessert and more wonderful speakers and presentations.
