Fariba Mahjoor left Iran to pursue her education in the United States. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Design from UCLA and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine. She experienced the effects of ignorance and injustice first hand when her father was imprisoned for six years and kept from his family an additional six solely because of his religious beliefs. In response, Fariba has engaged in philanthropic work to foster unity and peace through education. She has served on the Board of Full Circle Learning for over 10 years. This educational model builds altruistic identities and develops a generation of peacemakers, imbued with virtues and free of prejudice. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Maryland Baha’i Chair for World Peace, a program that aims to develop a sound scientific basis for knowledge and strategies that advance world peace. Fariba dedicates significant efforts to local community development initiatives for children, youth, and adults. Together with her husband, they support numerous causes internationally.
